City Barbeque is opening its newest Charlotte-area location Tuesday in Huntersville.

The new BBQ restaurant is at 15425 Hodges Circle, off Gilead Road near Publix. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m., and the restaurant’s doors will be open to the public after that, according to a statement from the Ohio-based chain Monday.

City Barbeque specializes in smoked meats, including pulled pork, brisket and turkey, along with southern-style sides like sweet corn pudding and hush puppies. The restaurant says 10 percent of opening day sales will go to Lotta Foundation, a local nonprofit.

The restaurant will also be hosting a grand opening celebration on Sept. 16 with a handful of family-friendly activities, including kid’s entertainment, giveaways and appearances by Sir Purr and Carolina Panthers’ PurrCussion.
