The Washington, D.C.-based Mediterranean fast casual restaurant Cava is coming to Charlotte.
The popular chain will have its first two Charlotte restaurants at 8936 J M Keynes Dr., across from the UNC-Charlotte campus, and on Park Road, Cava said in a statement Wednesday. A spokeswoman said the company could not yet share the exact address on Park Road, however.
Cava’s menu includes Mediterranean dishes made from scratch, such as spicy lamb meatballs and cauliflower quinoa tabbouleh, as well as seasonal juices, soups and roasted vegetables.
The 2,704 square-foot UNC-Charlotte location opens in February 2018, Cava said. It will seat 62 people and will have a spacious patio. The restaurant will be open daily from 11 a.m.-10 p.m.

The day before the official opening, Cava says it will offer a free lunch from noon to 2 p.m. An exact opening day was not immediately available.
“The next six months will be incredibly exciting, and a major highlight is our move into one of the hottest food scenes in the country,” CEO Brett Schulman said. “We’re excited to join its diverse, growing culinary community.”
The company is hiring locally for management positions online at its new locations. Started in 2011, Cava has locations in California, Connecticut, Washington, D.C., Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Virginia, according to its website.
