A boutique called Southern Connection has opened in SouthPark mall.

Southern Connection, located between Sephora and Kendra Scott, opened Saturday and will operate as a “seasonal tenant” through February, according to a spokeswoman for Simon Property Group, which owns SouthPark.

The store is in a 1,695 square-foot space formerly occupied by The Track & Field Store, which closed earlier this summer after about two years in business at SouthPark.

A sign posted in the store’s window indicates it sells a number of popular brands, including Yeti, Simply Southern and Tervis. The spokeswoman did not say how long Southern Connection will be open in SouthPark.

SouthPark has had a number of new stores open or announced recently, including Ballard Designs, Frye and Pink and Blue. At the same time, a handful of stores – including BCBG Max Azria and MontBlanc – have closed in the south Charlotte mall in recent months.

In the Charlotte area, Indianapolis-based Simon also owns Concord Mills and Charlotte Premium Outlets.
