The boutique fitness studio Bar Method is opening its second area location in the Waverly development in south Charlotte.

The 2,150 square-foot facility is expected to open in early 2018, according to a statement Monday from Crosland Southeast and Childress Klein, the developers leading the 90-acre Waverly project. The studio will be next to the Hilton Garden Inn and will overlook the public plaza.

Bar Method is a fitness and body sculpting studio that offers hour-long classes combining isometrics, interval training, dancing conditioning and sports rehab. The studio will have on-site childcare, changing rooms, lockers and free parking.

The new Waverly studio will be the second Bar Method for franchisee Autumn Frk, who opened another in SouthPark in 2015 as the first such studio in North Carolina.

“Waverly was the perfect fit for the Bar Method,” Frk said in the statement. “It’s a development that goes beyond the live-work-play boundaries by adding wellness into the paradigm.”

Waverly, the mixed use development on Providence Road just south of Interstate 485, hosted a grand opening event in October. Anchored by Whole Foods, the center includes a slew of new stores, including the clothing boutique Fab’rik, and new restaurants like Babalu and DeSano Pizza Bakery.
