A new restaurant called DeSano Pizza Bakery plans to open this September in the new building under construction on Third Street near Torrence Street, property records show. A Walgreen’s will also be located in the building.
This is the first Charlotte location for DeSano’s, which also has restaurants in Charleston, Los Angeles, Nashville, Tenn., and in the Fort Lauderdale, Fla. airport, according to its website.
The pizza chain imports all its ingredients from Italy, makes its own dough in-house, squeezes its own tomatoes and shreds its own cheese, said Montez McFadden, an assistant manager at the Charleston location who confirmed the Charlotte opening.
Charlotte developer Steve Thomas’s firm owns the site and has said the restaurant space is approximately 5,000 square feet. The space has an outdoor patio, framed by six columns and steel beams overhead.
