The first Shopping Center Quiz was so popular I thought we’d do another! Take a guess at the old photo, then click to see what the center looks like now. Good luck!

Darn it, the name is in the picture! The Charlotte Observer
Coliseum Shopping Center in the late 1970s. Home to Park-n-Shop (then McFadyen Music I think), Infinity’s End, and army/navy store, a blue jeans store -- what else can you think of?Th This photo was taken in 2016 - the center is being demolished as we speak. For more Coliseum Center images Google “CharlotteFive” and “Coliseum Center”. Sara Kay Mooney CharlotteFive.com

Independence Shopping Center at Idlewild Rd. Over the years A&P, Harris Teeter and Compare grocery stores were there - also Eckerd’s, miscellaneous small shops and I think Hechinger’s home improvement. Late 1970s. The area is having a revival and the center has been spruced up! Maria David The Charlotte Observer

You can barely make out “Nicholas and Alexandra” playing at the Manor in the older photo. The movie came out in 1971 so I’m guessing that picture was taken in ‘71 or ‘72. Maria David The Charlotte Observer
Cotswold Shopping Center in the late ‘70s. Do you remember the shops in the enclosed plaza? And either Ivey’s or Collin’s had an upstairs. Bush Stationers was my favorite then. The Charlotte Observer
Not a great “today” shot but the trees were in the way! 2017 Maria David The Charlotte Observer
