↑Hickory Ridge girls: After beating Myers Park Tuesday, the Ragin’ Bulls (19-1, 11-0) can win the Southwestern 4A championship by beating Butler Friday at home. Hickory Ridge is No. 2 in the Observer’s Sweet 16.

↑Devon Dotson, Providence Day: McDonald’s All-American became his school’s all-time leading scorer in last Friday’s win at Charlotte Latin. Dotson, who now has 2,455 career points, surpassed a 12-year-old mark held by Jeremy Goode (2,406).

Katie Baich, Lincoln Charter girls: scored her 1,000th career point Wednesday.

Zaria Clark, Gaston Day girls: 18 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, four steals for the freshman in an 70-36 win over SouthLake Christian.

Molly McArdle, Charlotte Catholic girls: made four of her team’s eight 3-pointers in a 58-52 upset win over Waxhaw Cuthbertson. McArdle finished with a team-high 13 points for Catholic (12-9, 8-4). Maddie Dillinger had 20 for Cuthbertson (17-4, 10-1).

Quan McCluney, Gaston Day: College of Charleston signee had 23 points, seven rebounds, one block and an assist in a 82-62 win at SouthLake. Teammates Nate Hinton (18 points, 11 assists, five rebounds), MJ Armstrong (16 points, four assists, four rebounds) and Demi Adelekun (13 points, nine rebounds, three blocks) had strong games. Jalen Celestine (20 points, seven rebounds, three assists) and Madison Monroe (20 points, four rebounds) led SouthLake.

Jai Rorie, Marshville Forest Hills: Game-high 20 points in a 80-57 win over East Montgomery. Rorie, a junior sharpshooter, scored his 1,000th career point in the game.
