Richmond Senior volleyball: Per MaxPreps, the Raiders are one of two 4A unbeaten teams in North Carolina. Richmond (16-0) is joined by Pfafftown Reagan (16-0).

Marvin Ridge volleyball: Per MaxPreps, the Mavericks (15-0) are one of three 3A unbeaten teams in the state, joined by Roxboro Person (12-0) and Greenville Conley (14-0)...One Observer-area team, Gray Stone Day (14-0) is unbeaten in 1A.

Tuesday’s #BIG5 Performers

Sidney Bing, Gaston Day volleyball: 35 assists, six aces, three kills, block in a 3-0 win over Hickory Grove (25-7, 25-17, 25-8). Laurlee Hurst had 18 kills and 15 digs for the Spartans (15-4, 6-2).

Colin Hayden, Charlotte Latin soccer: two goals in a 4-1 win over Covenant Day.

Jacob Neely, Gaston Christian soccer: two goals, three assists in an 8-1 win over Concord First Assembly. Davis McBee had two goals and two assists and Frank Lopez had three goals.

Amanda Sambach, Cannon School girls golf: Shot a 70 at Cedarwood Country Club to win the CISAA conference championship. Teammate Elena Jacoby (72) was second and Charlotte Country Day’s Michelle Harn (73) was third. Cannon won the team championship with a 219 total. Providence Day (239) was second.

Kayla Spangler, Charlotte Country Day volleyball: 44 assists, 20 digs, four aces, kill in a 3-2 win over Cannon (21-25, 25-15, 25-16, 17-25, 15-11). Katie Batten added six digs and six kills and Braden Nash had 25 digs for Country Day (18-3, 5-0 CISAA).
